Santa Clarita City Councilman Cameron Smyth was leading the race for Republican nomination for the 38th Assembly District on Tuesday, according to early results. As of 10:30 p.m., Smyth had received 6,470 votes district-wide, putting a sizable gap between himself and Republican challenger Mary Barrientos, who had received 1,691 votes. read more...
